Antique 30 ct Rock Crystal pendant

Impressive pendant with a large and very pure rock crystal of approximately 30 ct.
The stone is decorated with an openwork 830 stamped silver setting topped with a thick layer of gold.
The pendant is a typical example of Art Deco design owing to geometric elements: knobs, weaves and lines.
Simultaneously, the narrowing in the middle of the setting in the form of polished leaves makes its form subtle and more liquid. Rock crystal is a variety of quartz valued since the antiquity.
Its name comes from the word „krustallos” meaning ice, because the Greeks and Romans believed that quartz is the ice which does not melt because it was created by gods.
