Scottish Dirk end of XIX c.

An example of Scottish jewellery from the reign of Queen Victoria (1839-1901).
This type of jewellery started to be made after Queen Victoria purchased the Balmoral castle in Scotland in the 1860’s.
In this type of Scottish jewellery, carved and polished stones, instead of facetted stones, were used.
This brooch is made of embossed and chiselled gold with the following stones: Heliotrope, Jasper, red and gray Agate.
* on the left side, next to the gold setting, the Jasper has a slight loss.

 

 

Stones in the setting: 3 deepwater pearls, Heliotrope, Jasper, red and gray Agate

Weight: 3.68 g

Metal: yellow gold, stamped 9K, silver pin
